A wee bit of our history...
Clovenstone is part of the Wester Hailes which is a housing estate in the South West of Edinburgh. There is a mixture of private housing association and the council´s houses in the community. The population of Clovenstone is approx 1500.
There is a small population of Eastern Europeans as well as African nationals who live in the community along with the majority of people who consider themselves Scottish/British.
Clovenstone Community Centre was built in 1975 and is seen by local people as being the hub of the community where they can access and join in on activities that are relevant to their needs. The staff in the centre consists of 2 Community Learning & Development Workers, 1 F/T Clerical Worker, 1 Parent and Carer Worker and 1 Service Support Officer. The centre has a charitable status no. SC007211 and is managed in partnership with local people who are members of the centres management committee.
